Treatment of Botulinum Toxin ...

Botulinum Toxin - Botox

Botox (Botulinum Toxin)

It is a treatment that achieves temporary relaxation of the treated facial muscles, so when applied these muscles do not contract and the skin remains smooth and taut, considerably reducing expression lines. This technique is highly safe since it is based on the use of purified botulinum toxin that is applied in minimal and harmless doses. It is a protein that inhibits the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, responsible for the transmission of the nerve impulse that causes muscle contraction.

The treatment consists of infiltrating the product into specific points of the muscles of the upper third of the face through a very fine injection. Its application is painless and with it it is possible to block the nerve transmission that contracts the muscles when gesticulating. In general, and given that very small doses of the product are inoculated in each application, this treatment does not usually have side effects. However, sometimes a small bruise may occur at the application point, which is corrected with makeup and usually lasts a few hours.

The effects of botulinum toxin have an average duration of 4-6 months when the treated muscles will gradually regain their ability to move. However, as sessions are carried out, its effect lasts longer because the body assimilates it for longer and because muscle relaxation progressively reduces the depth of wrinkles.
