Fractionated Co2

Looking younger doesn’t have to always be solved by the scalpel, now you can use modern non-surgical techniques like laser, which respond to patients’ needs with a very active and professional personal life that requires effective results in a few sessions with minimal downtime.

This laser uses carbon dioxide gas to heat the dermis (layer located immediately below the epidermis) which causes the collagen to take the shape it has lost, decreasing wrinkles and rejuvenating the skin. This procedure is known as Skin Resurfacing.

Fractionated Co2 light warms damaged skin improving it in a few sessions.

The fractionated Co2 laser consists of the emission of thousands of tiny beams, which penetrate the skin as deep thermal columns to the deep dermis. These thermal columns are areas of microscopic wounds separated by healthy surrounding tissue, which contains cells capable of promoting rapid healing. The energy that penetrates into the deep dermis, reshapes the collagen. This procedure treats wrinkles, lines of expression and facial flaccidity, it is also used to remove scars and even stretch marks in other areas of the body.

What are the advantages of skin rejuvenation with CO2 laser skin?

  • It is currently the most effective method to rejuvenate your skin.
  • Safe and reliable procedure, which does not affect the surrounding tissue.
  • Controlled depth and exact penetration.
  • Homogeneous regeneration of the skin.
  • It can be done with local anesthesia.
  • It doesn’t require admission, it’s outpatient.

A new laser treatment has emerged, the result of many years of research: It is the Fractionated Co2 laser.

The fractionated CO2 laser exerts its effect on the water contained within the cells, heating the skin and inducing the replacement of the epidermis and the reorganization of the collagen and elastin fibers.

Each of the small beams of energy that gives the name of fractionated laser penetrates the skin exerting its effect on tissue’s columns that sometimes goes to the deep dermis and that are called areas of micro-thermal treatment.

Preparation for the Procedure

  • When the patient comes to the clinic, topical anesthesia is applied richly in all the areas to be treated.
  • The complete treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes. The side effects are minimal, you notice swelling lasting one day and redness for 4 to 5 days.
  • Fractionated laser does not require infiltrated anesthesia, just the application of topical anesthesia.
  • Improvements with the fractionated laser are observed after the first 5 days when the micro scabs that have formed begin to peel, leaving a healthier, smoother, and more beautiful skin.
  • Even after the micro scabs have fallen uniformly from the skin, the inflammation produced by the laser makes the skin continue to improve for a period of up to 3 months.
