What is rhinoplasty and in what cases is it applied?
Because of its location in the center of the face and its prominent shape, the nose is one of the features that most contributes to facial personality and harmony. However, many people are self-conscious about what they perceive as imperfections in their nasal structure, and therefore seek solutions in cosmetic medicine to improve their appearance. When correcting imperfections involves modifying the nasal structure (due to a hump, a protruding bone, a deviation of the nose, or a congenital malformation, for example), a surgical procedure known medically as rhinoplasty is required. But when it comes to correcting other minor imperfections, such as reshaping the bridge of the nose or refining its appearance to achieve facial harmony, we use a simple, quick, and outpatient procedure called non-surgical rhinoplasty .
What does it consist of?
This non-invasive treatment, popularized by its great success in the world of facial aesthetic medicine, consists of refining certain parts of the nose using resorbable fillers, such as hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite. Rhinoplasty without surgery allows us to correct the bridge of the nose and refine its appearance, eliminating minor imperfections that form at the final curve, lifting the tip, and correcting small deviations, all without the patient having to undergo surgery. When performed by a professional with knowledge of facial anatomy and experience in the application of fillers, the procedure is safe. In the worst-case scenario, side effects are limited to mild swelling that disappears within a few hours or a small bruise at the injection sites. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts between 45 minutes and one hour. However, since the injected substances are reabsorbable, the treatment must be repeated within nine months to one year.
