Hydrolaser
It’s a more modern technique than traditional laser liposculpture. Hydrolaser is a medical technique, now performed on an outpatient basis, requiring no general anesthesia and posing a low risk to the patient. This technique allows us to sculpt the figure by removing subcutaneous fat or adipose tissue from various areas of the body. The modern Hydrolaser technique makes the procedure safer, with millimeter-sized incisions, minimal risks due to a reduced possibility of bleeding and infection, and greater definition resulting from increased skin retraction. At our clinic, we use state-of-the-art laser equipment that does not cause burns. This technique can be performed on the chin, jawline, arms, abdomen, waist, back, hips, inner thighs, and pubic area. Purpose: Hydrolaser aims to remove unwanted subcutaneous fat from the body, thus achieving a slimmer figure or reducing imperfections in specific areas. Its primary purpose is weight loss, as it is not strictly a treatment for obesity. Technique: During the procedure, an anesthetic solution, composed of saline solution and lidocaine, will be infiltrated. This anesthetic solution will numb the area and loosen the fat. Next, the laser device is applied, which destroys the fat, facilitating its extraction and simultaneously producing greater skin retraction. The fat is then suctioned out through a very fine cannula that does not damage the surrounding tissues. The Hydrolaser procedure typically lasts between 1 and 3 hours. This type of minor surgery uses local anesthesia, not general or epidural anesthesia. It does not require hospitalization; it is an outpatient procedure, painless, and with a quick recovery.
Pre-surgical requirements:
It is extremely important that a doctor conducts an evaluation before you undergo the Hydrolaser procedure. This evaluation will include a review of your medical history, including any pre-existing conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and drug allergies. The doctor will also perform a physical examination and order any necessary pre-operative tests. The Hydrolaser procedure will be performed by Dr. Carolina Pérez, Surgeon. Code: 9550. Dr. Pérez holds the following certifications:
- Master in Liposculpture by: International Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Geneva.
- Certified by the Italian Liposculpture Society, Rome.
- Dr. Pérez is one of the first Latin Americans to obtain a Master’s degree from such a prestigious institution, taught by Master Dr. Giorgio Fischer, creator of the Liposculpture technique.
- The only Costa Rican accredited in the United States: American Board Certified by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, USA
The doctor has over 11 years of experience and has performed over 3500 hydrolaser procedures.
