Alopecia Treatment

Alopecia is the abnormal or increased loss of hair and is caused by several factors, including:

  • Inheritance
  • Stress
  • Diet poor in minerals and nutrients.
  • Excessive use of shampoo and hair dryer.
  • Some medications such as anticoagulants, contraceptives, or antidepressants.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Some diseases such as lupus, syphilis, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or anemia.

Detecting hair loss early is essential to provide the appropriate and most effective treatment.

Types of alopecia:

Non-scarring alopecia: These are the most common types and can be treated. Therefore, we will discuss them and give them more attention: Androgenic alopecia: This is hair loss caused by genetic factors. It affects many men and rarely women. Alopecia areata: In most cases, hair falls out in clumps, leaving bald patches. This type of alopecia can cause complete hair loss. Traumatic alopecia: This is caused by external factors such as hair dryers, metal combs, dyes, or perms. Diffuse alopecia: This can occur due to illnesses, hormonal changes, or the side effects of some medications.
